The Amazon Travel Treehouse :This tour will take us deep into the heart of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest: Tambopata, a place that holds secrets and mysteries within its ancient, untouched primary forests, developed over thousands of years. These forests are home to medicinal plants, orchids, ferns, and giant trees over 600 years old, which can reach heights of more than 90 meters.

Throughout the year, these forests provide fruits, seeds, and tender leaves that serve as food for the many species that inhabit this ecosystem.

As we walk through the forest, we will feel the freshness of the air, hear the sound of falling fruits, the songs of birds, the calls of various animals, and see sunlight filtering through the trees, giving life to the smaller plants below.

We will also observe the caves and shelters of animals, such as hollows in the earth and in the massive trees, as well as hanging bird nests high in the branches. It will be a unique experience, where we’ll have the opportunity to see a wide variety of insects, birds, monkeys, tarantulas, toads, ants, and even larger animals.

 Day 1: Arrival in Puerto Maldonado – Journey into the Heart of the Jungle

Your Amazonian journey begins as you arrive in Puerto Maldonado, the gateway to Peru’s southern rainforest. Whether you come by bus, flight, or from a local hotel, your certified naturalist guide will warmly welcome you and accompany you throughout your jungle adventure.

Before heading deep into the Amazon, we’ll stop briefly in Puerto Maldonado’s city center for any last-minute essentials—like batteries, rain ponchos, insect repellent, or flashlights for night walks.

Then, we’ll drive approximately 90 minutes through lush countryside dotted with tropical farms and local communities, arriving at the Filadelfia boat port.

River Transfer to the Lodge :Hop aboard a motorized canoe for a peaceful 30-minute ride along the Tambopata River, observing life on the riverbanks—perhaps spotting artisanal gold miners, tropical birds, or even a capybara or caiman.

 Day 2: The Amazon Travel Treehouse to  Macaw Clay Lick, Fishing & Night Safari

Sunrise Boat Ride & Macaw Clay Lick (Tambopata National Reserve)

Wake before dawn for an unforgettable 45-minute boat ride to one of the Amazon’s most spectacular wildlife events:

the Collpa Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick, located deep in the Tambopata National Reserve.

As the jungle awakens, you’ll pass incredible wildlife along the riverbanks—perhaps white caimans, capybaras, tapirs, or howler monkeys.

At the clay lick, prepare for a mesmerizing show: hundreds of macaws, parrots, and parakeets gather to eat mineral-

rich clay—an essential part of their diet. It’s a true spectacle of color and sound. Enjoy your boxed breakfast while soaking in the experience.

 Piranha Fishing & Jungle Exploration :After lunch and some rest, take a short boat ride and begin a guided hike through primary rainforest. Your guide will introduce you to local flora, share Indigenous ecological knowledge,

and explain the rainforest’s importance to the global climate.

At a secluded blackwater lake, try your hand at piranha fishing—a fun, safe activity rooted in local tradition. Keep an

eye out for hoatzins, kingfishers, herons, and with luck, a family of giant river otters.

Caiman Night Safari on the Tambopata River : After dinner, head out for a night river safari with your guide. Use flashlights to spot white caimans, night birds, and even capybaras along the riverbanks. On a clear night,

the sky above the Amazon is stunning—you may see Venus, the Southern Cross, and Orion’s Belt.
