Day 1: Arrival in Puerto Maldonado – Wildlife to Peruvian Amazon .
Your jungle adventure begins the moment you land in Puerto Maldonado. Our friendly staff will greet you at the airport and transfer you to the Tambopata River port, where a motorized canoe awaits. As we cruise downriver to the Madre de Dios, keep an eye out for river birds and early wildlife activity.
After a scenic 30-minute ride, we begin a 3-km (2-mi) jungle hike to a narrow canal. Here, our journey continues by paddle canoe through flooded Mauritia palm forests—a surreal transition into the Amazon wilderness.
As we reach Lake Sandoval, the motorless canoe glides silently across the water. If lucky, your first sightings may include the impressive Paiche (a 100kg+ Amazonian fish) or even the rare Giant Otter family.
After settling into the lodge, we set out again by boat to witness a magical Amazon sunset, accompanied by the calls of Blue-and-Yellow Macaws and other parrots. After dinner, join us for a night excursion to spot elusive Black Caimans and enjoy stargazing under the Milky Way—a view like no other.

After breakfast, we explore the primary rainforest around the lake on foot. Marvel at massive Chestnut trees, ancient vines, and an astounding diversity of flora and fauna.
In the afternoon, we paddle to the west side of the lake to observe Capuchin Monkeys, howler monkeys, and perhaps even squirrel monkeys. At dusk, enjoy a presentation on Amazon ecology and conservation.
Nighttime brings another chance to observe caimans or take a quiet walk under the stars.

Day 3: Medicinal Plants and Deeper Jungle Exploration
You can choose to start the day with another early lake paddle—ideal for wildlife lovers seeking closer otter encounters. After breakfast, we hike a medicinal plant trail, where your guide will share the secrets of Amazonian healing traditions.
Discover the Cinchona tree, the source of quinine for malaria treatment, and the versatile Pamicho, used for traditional roofing. Visit a small botanical garden cultivating native species and learn the incredible cultural importance of Amazon flora.
After a hearty lunch and siesta, explore the quieter north shore forest, a secluded zone ideal for birdwatching and primate spotting.

On your final morning, take one last paddle through the palm swamps at sunrise. The glassy surface of the lake and the reflections of the forest create unforgettable photo opportunities.
