 DAY 1:  Treehouse Amazon Tour Tambopata  -Arrival in Puerto Maldonado – Welcome to the Jungle

Your Amazon experience begins the moment you arrive in Puerto Maldonado, where your professional tour guide will greet you at the airport, bus station, or your hotel. After a brief welcome, we’ll head into the city center to grab any last-minute jungle essentials like flashlights, rain ponchos, or extra batteries.

From the city, we embark on a 90-minute scenic drive through the countryside to the community of Filadelfia, the entry point to the Tambopata River. There, a 30-minute boat ride awaits—relax and take in the tranquil river views. Along the way, keep your eyes open for local communities and artisanal gold mining along the riverbanks.

Afternoon Activity – Introduction to the Jungle:Your jungle guide will take you on a relaxed walk through lush jungle trails. Learn about Amazon flora and fauna, from towering ancient trees to sightings of macaws, toucans, monkeys, and possibly sloths. This is a perfect orientation to your surroundings.

 DAY 2:  Treehouse Amazon Tour Tambopata Macaw Clay Lick & Jungle Tree Walk

Early Morning – Macaw & Parrot Clay Lick (Collpa Chuncho):Wake before dawn for an unforgettable boat ride to the world-famous Macaw Clay Lick inside Tambopata National Reserve. Watch the sun rise over the Tambopata River and experience nature in its purest form.

After a quick ranger check-in, we’ll quietly approach the clay lick where dozens—sometimes hundreds—of colorful macaws, parrots, and parakeets gather to eat the nutrient-rich clay. Expect to see blue-and-yellow macaws, scarlet macaws, green parrots, and more. You’ll enjoy a boxed breakfast while observing this natural spectacle.

Midday – Free Time at the Lodge:After returning from the clay lick, take time to relax or explore the lodge grounds. Wildlife often visits the area, so keep your camera ready. Lunch will be served in the restaurant, prepared with fresh local ingredients.

Afternoon – Jungle Tree Walk:Join your guide for a walk into both primary and secondary forest. Encounter towering Amazonian trees like ceiba, ironwood, and garlic tree. Learn about the medicinal uses of plants and the role of the rainforest in regulating the global climate.

Evening – Caiman Night Expedition:After sunset, we head back to the river. With flashlights and expert guidance, search for black caimans, capybaras, night birds, and other wildlife. On clear nights, we’ll also stargaze—see Venus, the Southern Cross, and Orion’s Belt illuminating the Amazon sky.

 DAY 3: Treehouse Amazon Tour Tambopata Jungle Expedition & Tapir Clay Lick

Morning – Piranha Fishing & Black Lake Exploration:After breakfast, we set out for a more adventurous day. A short boat ride followed by a forest hike brings us to a remote blackwater lake. Afternoon – Tapir Clay Lick Hike:In the late afternoon, hike through the dense primary forest to the Sachavaca Clay Lick, a mineral-rich area frequented by Amazonian wildlife. The highlight is the South American Tapir, the largest land mammal in the rainforest, which visits the clay lick in the late afternoon or evening to consume mineral salts.

 DAY 4: Return to Puerto Maldonado

After a final breakfast in the heart of the rainforest, it’s time to say goodbye to the Amazon. Your guide will accompany you back to Puerto Maldonado, dropping you off at your hotel, bus terminal, or the airport.
