After a brief welcome, we’ll head into the city center to grab any last-minute jungle essentials like flashlights, rain ponchos, or extra batteries.

From the city, we embark on a 90-minute scenic drive through the countryside to the community of Filadelfia, the entry point to the Tambopata River. There, a 30-minute boat ride awaits—relax and take in the tranquil river views. Along the way, keep your eyes open for local communities and artisanal gold mining along the riverbanks.

After a quick ranger check-in, we’ll quietly approach the clay lick where dozens—sometimes hundreds—of colorful macaws, parrots, and parakeets gather to eat the nutrient-rich clay.
