Amazon Wildlife Trip

Day -1: Puerto Maldonado to Lake Sandoval Reserve

Pickup and Transfer: You’ll be picked up from the airport or bus station and transferred to a registration point. Here, you’ll leave some luggage and take what you need for the tour.

Boat Trip: Transfer to the port to board an outboard boat down the Alto Madre de Dios river. During the journey, you’ll observe various species along the riverbank, such as turtles, migratory fishing birds, and capybaras.

Control Post Registration: Upon reaching the control post of SANDOVAL LAKE, you’ll register before starting a 5 km walk into the deep jungle.

Canoe Ride: After the walk, you’ll arrive at a small port where you’ll board a canoe and row through a channel to reach SANDOVAL LAKE LODGE.

Lunch and Exploration: Enjoy lunch and explore Lake Sandoval in a canoe to observe wildlife such as giant otters, black caimans, and various birds.

Nocturnal Activity: In the evening, embark on a nocturnal canoe ride to spot black alligators, nocturnal birds, and other species.

Day 2: Sandoval Lake Reserve Center

Morning Exploration: Wake up to the sounds of bird songs and enjoy breakfast. You’ll have another opportunity to visit Sandoval Lake reserve to observe wildlife.

Lunch and Forest Exploration: After lunch, explore the virgin forest to see nut trees and various medicinal plants. Spot monkeys, tarantulas, insects, and mammals.

Night Activity: Venture into the forest at night to observe nocturnal mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and insects.

Day 3: Return to Puerto Maldonado / Airport / Bus Stations

Final Day: Enjoy breakfast and pack your belongings to return to Puerto Maldonado. Board a rowing canoe to navigate back to the control post.

Boat Ride: Transfer by outboard boat up the Madre de Dios River to Puerto Maldonado.

Transfer: Upon reaching Puerto Maldonado, transfer to the office to collect any left luggage, then proceed to the airport or bus terminal.

Amazon Wildlife Trip – This place is the most surprising natural paradise where one of the largest concentrations of

endemic birds and butterflies found in the lowlands of the world are found. Tambopata – Sandoval lake offers one of

the very exciting and unique Amazonian experiences that exists in our Peruvian Amazon.

As we can see the giant river otter, or «river wolf», (This species is in extinction in the world) Its preferred food is fish, turtles, black caiman.

This Sandoval lake shelters a great diversity of species which is his habitation.

Where you can enjoy an exciting exhibition of one of the rarest species of mammals.We can also see the blue and gold macaws and the red-bellied macaws.

1: They live naturally in the flooded palm forest at the west end of Lake Sandoval. In the forests surrounding the lake live some species of monkeys such as the brown capuchin, friar, red howler monkey,

Musmuqui, stump monkey, saddle marmoset and night monkeys and among others the Bolivian squirrel.

2: The sunrises on the lake are more wonderful, listening to the songs of the birds and the howl of the howling monkey.

The sunsets are the most impressionable, the sun manages to shed its solar rays into the deepest part of the jungle and then disappears at the edge of Lake Sandoval, a perfect moment for photographs.

3: Take the canoes and go into the deepest part of the lake where one discovers the wonderful flora and fauna that nature offers us.

4: In the virgin primary forests we can find a diversity of medicinal plants and giant trees with more than 80 meters in height that can be more than 500 years old, which is their habitat for many species from the smallest to the largest animals , frogs, toads, ants, birds, insects, reptiles, etc.

1 DAY : Puerto Maldonado to  Lake Sandoval Reserve .

I pick you up from the airport/Bus Stations, transfer to the to register and leave some luggage and take what you need for the tour, transfer to the port to board the outboard boat to continue the trip Amazon Wildlife Trip   down

Nocturnal activity Visit Lake Sandoval in the rowing canoe , now carrying the flashlight to be able to see the black

alligators , nocturnal birds , monkeys on the banks of the river and other species . After this activity return to the

2 DAYS :   Sandoval Lake Reserve Center in the Amazon Wildlife Trip .

Today we will wake up with the call of the birds’ songs and enjoy a delicious breakfast. We will have another possibility to visit the Sandoval Lake reserve to observe other species that were seen on the previous day that the SANDOVAL LAKE offers an abundant in  Amazon Wildlife Trip Peru offers nature wildlife in jungle with more than of

65 species of migratory and resident birds these aquatic birds that feed on fish and some residents such as the family of giant otters that are the most active, turtles, taricayas, charapas, small alligators that sunbathe on dry and fallen

trunks and Some macaws that eat the fruits of the palm trees and guayos, which are very delicious in protein, return to the lodge.

After lunch we enter a cool undergrowth of the virgin forest to see the imposing nut trees (the chestnut) as the people who live in the same deep forest collect to market this important natural fruit and many healing plants (ayahusca,

chacruna, cañacaña, sacha garlic, huayo sugar, Chuchuhuasi, copaiba etc.

where we will observe some species of monkeys such as the brown capuchin monkey, squirrel monkey, howler

monkey, friar monkey and the leoncito monkey, tarantulas, insects, frogs, toads and some mammals such as

armadillo, añuje, sloth, return to our lodge to enjoy our Dinner .

3 DAY:  Amazon Wildlife  Trip to Puerto Maldona / Aiport/ Bus Stations  –

Today we say goodbye after having enjoyed our tour in the Amazon we will have breakfast then we will pack our

things to return by the same path that we entered the first day we will board the rowing canoe to start navigating the

Lake to the next port and then start to walk until you reach the control post of the amazon wildlife trip peru offers

nature wildlife in jungle  . Where our outboard boat awaits us to start  up the Madre de Dios River until we reach the

City of Puerto Maldonado. Transfer to our office to collect the left luggage and then we will go to the airport / bus terminal.
